ALFAAZ 2014

Motivated with last year’s Alfaaz experience, this year several people came forward to support us. Energy received from our artists, volunteers and supporters, gave a new confidence which results in 10 times more audience as compared to last time. With the presence marked on national level this year, it became National Theatre Festival and attracted many people towards it.  This year we organized 2 days festival with the support of Hindustan Zinc Limited. We collaborated with Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies, who provided us auditorium at GMCH to perform plays. On the first day of festival our team presented Vijay Tendulkar’s play ‘KAMLA’ based on the story of an unfortunate woman sold away in the flesh market.  On day two Dashroopak team from Varanasi performed play ‘Suno Amrapali’ based on the conversation of Amrapali and Lord Buddha. We also screened a movie ‘Pancham Ved’ written and directed by Gautam Chatterjee depicting Natyashashtra as fifth ved. About 30 street plays were performed all over the city promoting National Theatre Festival Alfaaz 2014 and with the message to respect women in our lives was reached to 2000 people.
