Production Oriented Theatre Workshop ‘Taraash – 2019’
what is Taraash ?
Every year “Natyansh Society of Dramatic and Performing Arts” organizes production oriented theatre workshop ‘Taraash’ which aims to enhance curiosity, restructuring thought processes, learning theatre basics, getting involved in arts, identifying limiting beliefs and going beyond limitations, enhancing life skills, overcoming from stage fear and inhibitions as we strongly believe theatre is a way beyond that being a form of entertainment.
Taraash 2019 is planned from May 19 to June 09, 2019
Taraash for Social Change
Taraash is an initiative for socially and economically underprivileged children for whom creative art platforms are luxury. Taraash is our small effort towards social change, by keeping underprivileged children at centre point. The philosophy behind these initiative is to bring measurable changes in overall personality of children by encouraging them to explore their self through various theatre based activities which helps in their social, emotional and cognitive development. We strongly believe that it is very important for every individual to have his/her own personality and that is only possible by getting to know who you really are ,what skills do they have and what interests them instead of being what the society expects you. Such experiences would help them to manifest their hidden creativity. We aim at bringing out the little joys for the soul that the modern world fails to provide. Theatre is not merely a form of entertainment but it is a therapy which helps an individual to gain deeper level of understanding, and it also assigns power to redesign one’s own destiny. Children from less privileged background doesn’t get opportunity to express their self, their ideas and their skills while our aim is to provide an platform where children can access freedom of expression which gets attention and sharpened by our professional theatre artists. These children hardly get an opportunity to bring out the artist in them and we believe that once they grow up and become a part of the ‘work for money’ society, there exists a very small chance of them being involved in creative activities like this. Through theatre we not only aim at entertaining them or spreading smiles but cultivate a deeper sense of what is right and wrong and empowering them to raise their voice and express themselves.
