Taraash 2014

First summer theatre workshop Taraash was held in 2014. In collaboration with CPS school of Music, Natyansh conducted 21 days theatre workshop in Central Public School, Udaipur from June 08 to 29, 2014. 20 students participated in 21 days summer theatre workshop and enhanced their learning abilities and controlled their emotions like anger and aggression. They also explored creation of an entire production, through creativity, experimentation, physical training, team work and self-discovery while understanding the basics of theatre. Habib Tanvir’s play ‘Gadhey’ was performed at end of the workshop. Directed by Ashfaq Noor Khan Pathan and assisted by Rekha Sisodia, ‘Gadhey’ is a satire on education system producing ashes. It is innuendo to our political system as well in which brainless people are on top just because they have money. The story revolves around a laundryman who ask a schoolmaster to convert his donkey into a human being. And then starts the training of donkey to become a man. After the performance certificates were given to all participants.

Cast includes Shlok Pimpalkar as Governor,  Amit Nagar and Ayush Maheshwari as Mantri, Himja Pandey and Richa Ahari as Darbaari, Chetan Menaria as Dhobi, Niti Sharma as Dhoban, Abdul Mubin Khan as Guruji, Mohammed Rizwan Mansuri, Bhavyan Khokhawat, Sanskar Nagda, Harija Pandey, Neha Purohit as school children portrayed characters in play. Live music was played by Pandit Awadh Kishore Pandey and Rajesh Ishore. Lights given by Mahendra Dangi, stage setup by Irfan Sheikh, Bhavesh Jain, Vishal Raj Vaishnav, Kulshreshtha Singh Sisodia, Nitesh, Pratik Parikh, Mohak & Bhuvnesh. Costumes designed by Yogeeta Sisodia and make up by Rekha Sisodia, Neha Purohit, Khushnuma Mansuri. The production was managed by Amit Shrimali.
